Why is America upset with Dr. Phil over giving advice to Britney Spears?

I have heard nothing but negative remarks about Oprah Winfrey as well citing that she owns Dr. Phil's show , what has this to do with Dr. Phil being a real physician? Also what connection does Oprah have with Dr. Phil periord?Why is America upset with Dr. Phil over giving advice to Britney Spears?
Actually, most intelligent Americans could not care less about Britney Spears.





Or Dr. Phil for that matter.Why is America upset with Dr. Phil over giving advice to Britney Spears?
I don't know, but I heard he was called to their house and the Spears family trusted him and spoke to him in confidence. Apparently they were wrong to trust him, because he told all.
I think a lot of people were upset that he broke the rules of doctor/patient confidentiality by blabbing to the media re: Brittney Spears but even before that, there two separate incidences where he'd gotten himself into big doo doo professionally:





According to his entry at Wikipedia, The Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists imposed disciplinary sanctions on McGraw on January 27, 1989 for an inappropriate ';dual relationship'; reported in 1988 by a therapy client/employee from 1984. McGraw was ordered by the Board to take an ethics class, pass a jurisprudence exam, complete a physical evaluation, undergo a psychological evaluation and have his practice supervised for one year in order to continue his private practice in Texas. McGraw admits to giving the client a ';job'; at his office (which is not allowed), but denied carrying on a sexual relationship with the 19 year old, who says their relationship was ';sexually inappropriate.';





As of 2008, McGraw has not completed the conditions imposed by the Board of Examiners of Psychologists, and he is not licensed to practice psychology...and this is where the BIG problem is... illegally practising without a license! Any other person who does that would be jailed or severely fined. He should be locked up, too, but he probably won't be because of the oh-so-powerful Oprah connection!





Also, in California there was a action lawsuit against him for fraud re: some diet program he was hawking.





Pesonally, I think Dr. Phil is just a big ole insensitive blowhard who only wants to self-promote...just like that damn Dr. Laura. Neither one of them have any credibility as far as I'm concerned. All of this stuff is proof that we should all be careful when selecting any sort of medical or psychological professional. Just because someone has MD or PhD after their names, they don't automatically sprout angel wings...or even have the right answers for YOU!

taking advice from doctor phil?!...thats about as silly as a three legged dog on a hot tin roof waiting for the sun to shine at midnight. YeeHaw.
The dude has been practicing without a license. He will face criminal charges! Has nothing too do with Spears!
Actually, Dr. Phil is not a medical Dr. The problem is that he gives advice as though he is. And people take it as though he is.
Some people don't like Dr. Phil because he acts like he knows EVERYTHINGGGGG.........They believe he did the Britney Spears thing to get more attention for his own show.
Dr Phil started on Oprah, and Oprah got his show started...so he owes his fame to stuck up Oprah
