Im goin to America to work for the summer (Cape Cod)and have never been dere before...ne advice?

The Cape is a wonderful place to spend a summer. Where will you be working? (As if you can answer!)

Remember that Boston is just an hour and a half away. I particularly am fond of Chatham, MA, where the famous Chatham Light is located and the Chatham Bars Inn hotel is nearby.

Be sure to travel to Martha's Vineyard and/or Nantucket while you're there. To spend the summer on the cape and not visit the islands would be a travesty.

Have Fun!
The Cape is a great place for the summer! It's very crowded, so it's a good place to meet people. It's generally all beach communities, with some great places to eat and hang out. Keep in mind that Boston is only a few hours away, depending where on the Cape you're staying. It would be worth taking a bus or train up there for a day trip even. There is so much American history there, and fun things to do, etc.
I love going to the Cape, it's a great place...there are tons of great places to shop and eat there...

Remember that it can get crowded during the summer, as it is a popular vacation area. Some towns have huge traffic problems...
gyrene71, too bad they're all lazy sitting on their butts watching tv

Melissa you'll enjoy it. The beach's are great and its a nice place to be around. When you meet some people ask them to take you up to Boston for a day, its a great place.
I interpret that you are a student with a J-1 summer work visa?

Certainly, box up a bike (assuming you have one) and check it as baggage; the Cape has almost no local public transportation (and, notwithstanding what ShouldBeW... suggests - I've noticed how her Boston category answers are usually 75% right but she certainly does make occasional mistakes!! - there are no trains, only some busses from the major town centres, and boats from Provincetown, to Boston).
Keep lots of Sun Screen on, Stay away from Province town,(Know as P Town) Drink plenty of Bottled Water, gets mighty hot %26amp; humid wear light clothing, light colors.
Yes Buy a Bike, and control your partying !! LOL I live here, are you going to the Yarmouth, Hyannis area ?? Working in the resturants as a waitress ?? You'll have a ball, E-Mail me if You like . I'm in Yarmouth Where you from ? Good Luck and if you habve any questions feel free,
