Clubs/drinking in America? advice!!?

im goin to San Diego for 2 months in July....im gonna be 18 by then so whats up with bars and clubs over there??


i know the drinking age is 21 there though


im 17 right now but i dont have much problems gettin in places that are 18s as theyre not always so strict here..(ireland)


so do i have to get a fake ID or something? how strict are they?


my friend said that we can just go 2 house parties...cuz thats what all the college kids do over there.....but lol, we dont know anyone, so unless we crash a load of american parties, thats not gonna happen.....advice??? haha actually......what are th chances of amercans just letting a group of random irish into their parties

they are strict here. of course you can get a fake id, but keep in mind that they will have you arrested if you are caught. go to parties, it is your best bet. and you irish can crash any parties i have, any time.
you cant drink in a club in the states unless you are 21. they will check you out the door at every club to see how old you are. and san diego sux. its all about NYC!
Unless a club is having an ';all ages'; event, you will not be allowed in.
My advice... if you must party... San Diego is where I live... super close to Mexico... Drinking age is 18 as soon as you cross the border... Just a suggestion... that way it isnt illegal.
No party rejects hot girls. On the chance that you're not, i wouldn't crash with alot of people.
Some places are more strict than others on ID. Not much chance of getting invited to a house party unless someone knows someone at the party.
I would say that in general its pretty strict. Your definately not going to be able to get into a club and drink, thats for sure. I dont really see a bunch of random people showing up at a party working for you too well either unless you go out and meet some people first. Im sure there are some people who will think its cool you are from Ireland and all if you are that outgoing, who will invite you over to a party (if they are even having one). but i can guarantee you that trying to drink in a bar/club isnt going to work out for you.
I suggest finding a college. At that college, find a fraternity house. Girls get into pretty much any party they want, not matter who you are, especially if you're pretty. You also get free drinks at fraternity parties too.





As far as clubs go, there are a fair number you only have to be 18 to get into. If you want to drink, just get someone who's 21 to buy them for you. The ones you have to be 21 to get into, they're pretty strict. If you can get someone else's ID who is over 21 and looks like you, you'll be fine.
Very slim chance. Club owners can get into big trouble if they let in under age patrons
If it's not a huge group of you, maybe up to 3 people, you can generally get into the local pubs. The dodgier it is the better chance you have of being served without them asking for ID. I've backpacked and the Irish, while being cool people, can tend to get a bit unruly after a lot of drinking. I would try and avoid attracting any unwanted attention of this kind; your accent will attract enough attention on its own. American chicks love any guy with an accent. Anything high profile like dance clubs and stuff you'll be pretty hard pressed to get into, even with a fake ID, especially if you're male.

Just messing with you,getting invited to a house party isn't as hard as you might think just becareful who you party with.
STRICT... get a fake ID... im not from europe nor have i been there.. but its known to be slack.. so i definatly recommened getting a fake or your not giong to be able to get in.


umm it depends on the host if you can get in... but you'll met people.. were friendlier then we seem.
