Need help and advice on planning a trip to South America?

Myself and two friends plan to travel to Central and South America around April of next year. We plan on visiting Mexico, then Peru and Brazil. What would be the best way of arranging our flights? Should we go to Peru first, or Mexico? Also, what would be the the average sum of money we would need for 1 month?

Any advise and recommendation would be very much appreciated!

If you are only traveliing one month, April is shoulder season in both north and south hemisphere.. pick your route according to the cheapest airfare. If staying for several months, avoid mexico in the north american summer.. ie do mexico in april, then head southwards.. brazil will be cooler and more tolerable in june..(it's always hot in the amazon)

one month for those three countries is crazy though.. you need 2-3 wks for peru alone... at least one month in brazil.. it really depends on how in depth you want to to get into each country..

Ditto on the spending money.. if you backpack, self cater, use local overland transport, and limit your partying (hard to do in latin america) .. but still enjoy sightseeing you could get by with $50 pppd..really depends on priorities.. that is a real basic budget .. no air travel..youth hostel or 2 star hotel.. $100+ pppd and you'l enjoy yourself a bunch more.

Good luck.. wish I was you...
