Does this advice amount to helping people who have broken the law and to remain in America illegally ?

Community groups are responding to a controversial crackdown on illegal immigrants with a controversial plan of their own: They are giving undocumented people advice on how to avoid being deported.

Immigration advocates say they are simply trying to protect the rights of illegal immigrants, not teach them how to beat the system.';It shows blatant contempt for the rule of law in this country and blatant contempt for local police working with federal authorities to clean up this mess,'; said Chris Simcox, president of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, a civilian border-watch group.

The crackdown, led by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, has thousands of immigrants, both legal and illegal, flocking to forums held monthly by at least three pro-immigrant community groups that are giving advice on how to avoid getting de- ported.

The advice most emphasized: Remain silent.

Evelyn Cruz, who heads the immigration clinic at Arizona State University's law school, said the U.S. Constitution guarantees certain rights to everyone, regardless of legal status, including the right to remain silent.

Making sure immigrants are aware so their rights aren't violated helps protect those rights for everyone, she said.

i'm starting to sound like a broken record but it bears repeating until the point becomes clear. if an american citizen were in mexico and we were the illegal immigant you know what would happen to us? we wouldn't have any rights and we would be silent because we would have the sh!t kick out of us. and everyone does not have rights under the constitution, human rights yes but everything that a citizen is entitled to no. this is sickening and they should be ashamed of themselves. they can't think of anything useful to do, help a veteran, volunteer at a girl scout counsil?Does this advice amount to helping people who have broken the law and to remain in America illegally ?
I always wonder why highly educated people help illegal immigrants, they most know something right? (i was refering the Evelyn Cruz, 'couse im sure it takes more than a smile to get her job)
yes it does and soon these same people giving advice on how to break the law and beat the system will in effect be charged by the system for aid and abetting criminals and once the government gets the brass to prosecute them for this you will see a lot of these places closing for they truly do not have an argument on this, the rights do not extent to non citizens, that is like saying that someone not born in this country has the right to vote, the right to fight by any means necessary ect they should remember that we did not ask them to come they came on their own and as is the case with any felon or criminal you have no rights when convicted of a crime
oh boy.. another money-making scheme.... finding helpful information for immigrants and making them pay.... immigration clinic?...... a very good racket...
Only traitors aid illegals in entering this country. They have no rights as a citizen or resident of this nation.
